With a vast array of Kickstarter games being released every week, it’s hard to sift through all the amazing titles vying for your attention.
But don’t worry, The Bear is here!
I’ll be compiling a weekly (hopefully!) list of Tabletop games that have come to Kickstarter over the previous seven days and deserve a moment of your time. These are my choices from November 28th to December 4th:
Dice Wars by Wiz Dice and Brybelly
Not every commander has the luxury of choosing his battalion, sometimes it’s all down to the luck of the die. Dice Wars: Heroes of Polyhedra takes this adage to the next level and literally makes you roll dice to choose the makeup of your army; this may sound like a nightmare to some but to tacticians and strategists, it’s a dream come true. What better way to prove that Patton isn’t a patch on you and that Sun Tzu should stick to writing memes than to be forced into a seemingly impossible situation and then have your foes driven before you!
Set in a fantasy world filled with wizards, warriors, heroes and monsters, Dice Wars is about outwitting, outplaying and outlasting your opponents. Played over 9 modular tiles that can be shuffled, rotated, flipped and laid out in a myriad of patterns, Dice Wars’ landscape will always have a different feel. The variety and unpredictable nature of Dice Wars means that replayability is in the DNA of the game and with the ability to play 1v1, 2v2 or even 3v1 this is a game well worth checking out.
To get hold of a copy of Dice Wars: Heroes of Polyhedra it is going to cost you a minimum of $40 – but I’m a sucker for dice so the Battle-Scared d20s you get with the $50 pledge is very tempting.
Dice Wars‘ campaign ends on the 31st December with delivery expected March 2018.
If there are any other board games you think I should check out or a Kickstarter campaign I missed, head over to the contact section and leave me a message.
